Phantom Island x Taketomi Island Sightseeing

It was a packed itinerary that let us fully enjoy all the popular spots—from Ishigaki Island to the “Phantom Island” and on to Taketomi Island—in just one day! ♪ It was such a treat to enjoy snorkeling in the crystal-clear ocean and then take a leisurely water buffalo cart ride through Taketomi Island’s red-tiled streets! The lunch provided was delicious, and I left feeling completely full and satisfied. ☆ I definitely recommend this to anyone visiting the Yaeyama Islands for the first time!

It was definitely the right call to visit both the Phantom Island and Taketomi Island in one go. The ocean is beautiful, lunch was delicious—it was just the best.

First, we landed on a pristine, snow-white “phantom island” and let the crystal-clear sea wash away our worries; next, we enjoyed snorkeling among the vibrantly colored coral reefs. Then, in the afternoon, we took a ferry to Taketomi Island and enjoyed a leisurely ride on a water buffalo cart—it was a wonderful itinerary that allowed us to fully savor the charms of the Yaeyama Islands throughout the day. The pristine white sandy beaches and the “Ishigaki Blue” sea of this mythical island made for a picture-perfect location no matter where you looked. The red-tiled rooftops of Taketomi Island were also incredibly charming, and I was able to capture many wonderful landscape photos. I highly recommend this itinerary to photography enthusiasts.

Miyako Island was seriously so beautiful it totally got me hyped lol. And taking a leisurely ride on a water buffalo cart on Taketomi Island afterward was so emotional and absolutely amazing! You even get the photos for free—Taipa is just the best, right? lol. If you're going to Ishigaki, you should definitely sign up for this!
